Explore the Ziz Valley, Todra Gorge, and Dades Valley
Depart early from Fes and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before continuing to Azrou to explore the cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques. Cross the Zad Pass (2,178 m) toward Midelt for lunch, then journey through the beautiful Ziz Valley with its lush palm groves and Berber villages. Pass by Erfoud, known for fossils, before reaching Merzouga. Dinner and overnight stay in a local hotel.
After breakfast, explore Merzouga before heading into the desert. Enjoy a camel trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi as the sun sets. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp, enjoying dinner, mint tea, and Berber music under the stars.
Leave the desert behind and visit Rissani, famous for its traditional souks. Continue to Erfoud before reaching Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon perfect for a short walk. Travel through the Dades Valley, surrounded by kasbahs and striking rock formations. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through the Rose Valley and Skoura Oasis. Arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert,” and explore its kasbahs and film studios. Overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
Visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for many movies. Then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying breathtaking views before arriving in Marrakech, where your tour ends.
