Reach Ouarzazate by late morning, the “Gateway to the Sahara,” and continue to Agdez, a charming town overlooking the expansive Draa Valley. Enjoy lunch here before heading to Zagora, one of southern Morocco’s oldest towns.
Pass through Tamgroute, known for its green pottery workshops and ancient Quranic library. Continue to M’hamid El Ghizlane, the final stop before the desert proper. Here, embark on a 1.5-hour camel trek into Chegaga’s golden dunes to witness a magical desert sunset.
At the luxury desert camp, unwind with a traditional Berber dinner, then gather around the fire for Amazigh music under the star-filled sky. If fortune favors, catch a shooting star or two.
